Painting Holiday in French Alps ..........with truly spectacular scenery

Located in the pretty village of Les Houches, 15 minutes from Chamonix town, situated approxiamatly 1 hour transfer from Geneva airport, with plenty of connections from the UK. Les Houches offers an excellent variety of art locations with Mont Blanc as a magnificent backdrop with wild flower meadows and fauna offering the artist an array of colours and spectacular scenery.

Where we stay

Lakeland art courses will be based at The Hotel Slalom located in picturesque Les Houches in the Chamonix Valley.
Beautiful Les Houches, set amongst the magnificent Mont Blanc Massif, marvel at the stunning scenery from the spacious and contemporary furnished living area.Students can come together in a relaxed and comfortable environment to share in the days events over a glass of fine wine or two in the cosy bar or stunning contemporary lounge. The hotel has ten beautifully and individually appointed designer bedrooms with luxury en suite facilities. All rooms are equipped with flat screen TVs, DVDs, phones and Internet connections. Bedrooms, modern, with stunning mountain vista's from every room. Situated a mere 30 metres from the main cable car, access to the mountains is quick and easy. Evening meals will be taken in local restaurants sampling wonderful French Alpine cuisine.

Course agenda

Every day will be spent on location with Jane working alongside supporting, demonstrating and encouraging to develop your own style. Saturday transfer from Geneva airport to Hotel Slalom approx. 1 Hour transfer.Welcome evening discussing the area and painting locations. Each day we will be visiting and painting new and exciting area's around Les Houches and Chamonix Valley including trips up the mountain by cable car, painting vast mountain vista's with wild alpine flowers, pretty Alpine lodges and charming French street scene's.

A typical day: starting the day around 10am catching the cable car to painting destinations, Jane demonstrations and gently guides you from the start of a painting through to an exciting finish, lunch break at a local mountain cafe or visit to the pastry shop! An afternoon of painting, breaking off around 4pm, Evening meals taken in local restaurants.

Groups are small, individual tuition and attention is always assured.The days are fun, locations are chosen in quiet areas to appreciate the magnificent mountain scenery, the holiday is set in a friendly and relaxed environment. Please note there will be some easy walking involved to take in this wonderful painting area. The course itinery offers two free evenings and 1/2 a free day for students own leisure time.

It's location right at the base of Mount Blanc and around the corner from an excellent choice of restaurants, is superb.
It's certainly a pampering experience staying there, as the beds are really comfortable, with top-class linen, the bathrooms are luxurious and the complimentary bag of toiletries is a cut above the average. The mountain views from the rooms are absolutely stunning. From Trip Advisor
