Tarn Hows in Watercolour

Jane Ward

Jane was born in North Yorkshire. As a child she discovered a great love of painting outdoors. Enjoying walking amongst inspiring high fell and mountain scenery led her to paint what she really loved, capturing dramatic light conditions on Lakes, mountain ridges and Tarns especially in Winter. Self taught, Jane paints mainly in Watercolours and Pastels, a professional landscape artist, demonstrator, enthusiastic tutor and contributor to 'Leisure Painter', holding painting holidays in various beautiful locations

Moving to the Lake District Jane set up 'Lakeland Art Courses' sharing her special painting locations around Keswick and Grasmere with students from all over the world. A trip to Italy opened a new chapter, quite by accident discovering Lake Iseo ' the secret jewel of the Italian Lakes' Jane now organises each year a painting holiday to her favourite place in Italy.

Her work can be seen at Viridian Gallery, Keswick and Thornthwaite Gallery. Jane's 'Lakeland art Blog is a weekly diary showing places that inspire, Some of her walks, adventures, paintings, tips and new ideas.

'Lakeland Art Courses was set up to share with other artists the joy of outdoor painting in beautiful scenery.Be them beginners or Intermediates....... there is nothing quite like sitting peacefully beside a still lake and capturing it with paint.'
